More than just Cleaners in Liverpool
Liverpool cleaners from Spotless Cleaners Liverpool have raised £1,000 for two fantastic local children’s charities – Flame Spirit and The Olivia Alice Foundation – by climbing Mount Snowdon.
Our team took a day off from cleaning in Liverpool and travelled to North Wales for their charity walk on Sunday 2nd October 2016.
Charity walk challenge
We’re very proud of our group of Liverpool cleaners, who were all quite new to hiking and climbing when they began training for their charity walk.
As a company we wanted to do something to support the two local charitable organisations that mean a lot to us so, collectively and individually, the team got training and made this challenging climb a reality.
From Cleaning up Liverpool to supporting children in need
Both charities that we chose to support are grassroots organisations based here in Liverpool.
The Olivia Alice Foundation raises funds to buy equipment that helps children with complex needs and their families to take short breaks.
It was established in 2015 by the family of Olivia Alice, who died in 2014 at just 15-years-old.
The Olivia Alice Foundation is completely independent and run by people who understand the needs of families supporting children with special needs – Olivia herself had complex medical needs that meant she needed round the clock care.
We’re pleased to say that every penny raised by our charity walk will go to helping families like Olivia’s to improve the quality of life for their children.
Similarly, Flame Spirit is another local independent charity that raises money to help children with a range of health and medical needs.
Based out of Netherton Golf Club, Flame Spirit does a great deal to raise funds and subsequently provide grants to the families of children who really need it.
Being routed at a sports club, Flame Spirit most usually raises funds through golf and other sporting events, so we thought it only fitting that our team of Liverpool cleaners pull on their hiking boots and get active in order to raise their funds.
Thanks for supporting our charity walk
Of course, we would like to sign off by thanking everybody that supported our merry band of Liverpool cleaners as they climbed their way up the highest mountain in Wales.
It means a lot to us that we received so many donations from generous friends and customers and it will mean even more to the families who benefit from the money you helped us to raise.
